Progress Description
The project will restore and maintain the lost forest cover in the target areas by planting trees with a required planting distance, planting depth for proper and faster growth and development, and managing them as well. The target areas of this project are in the northern part of Ghana which consist of six regions. The northern region (Tamale), the savanna region, the North-east region, the Otti region, Upper East Region (Bolgatanga) and Upper West Region (WA). These regions are found within the Guinea Savannah ecological zones of Ghana and in the driest part of the country with a unimodal rainfall pattern. Most of the inhabitants are peasant farmers and literacy levels are very low. The beneficiary communities are involved in all the processes and activities of tree planting, therefore, planted trees will be carefully maintained with protection, water and Love.
